Registration & Pricing 
  • Online Registration for Fall 2019 will open August 14. You may also register by visiting Physical Education 336, Dodge Fitness Center, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. *Current Dodge Fitness Center Membership required to register.
  • FREE TRIAL September 3rd - 6th! See policies below.
  • Discount: Register by September 3rd for $170. Regular Price: $185.
  • Pass holders have access to all classes on the schedule and may attend as many as they'd like. However, please note that classes are first come/first served, and pass holders may be turned away if the room is at capacity.
  • If you register online, you must stop by the PHED office to pick up your Group Fitness Pass sticker prior to attendance. All registrants must present this sticker at each class to be admitted.

Class Descriptions
All classes are multi-level, unless otherwise noted. Athletic shoes required for all classes except Yoga, Pilates, and Barre.
 
FITNESS CLASSES
20/10 Intervals: Tabata-style intervals of 20 seconds intense work, followed by 10 seconds of rest. Athletic shoes required.
Barreless Barre: A ballet-inspired workout to tone the entire body, and improve posture and balance.
Barre+Core: A combination of Barreless Barre with focus on core strength training. 
Body Sculpt: Non-cardio workout to strengthen and firm the whole body using weights, dynabands and body bars. All levels. Athletic shoes required.
Cardio Kick Box: A fast-paced, choreographed, non-contact kickboxing class that tones the whole body and provides a fun cardio workout.  All levels. Athletic shoes required.
Cardio Sculpt: A combination class including floor aerobics, step, and/or kickboxing with body sculpting intervals.  Athletic shoes required.
Circuits: Full body, high intensity workout using stations around the room.  Athletic shoes required.
Core Sculpt: Combination class including light body sculpting exercises with Pilates-style mat work to strengthen and lengthen the entire body. Athletic shoes required. Intermediate level requires one year of Sculpt and/or Pilates training.  Athletic shoes required.
Fit Mix: A fitness class combining cardio, sculpting, core and stretching to facilitate all levels of training. Athletic shoes required.
Pilates: Classic Pilates mat exercises designed to strengthen and lengthen the “core” (abdominals, back and hips). Emphasis on proper breathing and alignment. All levels.
Turbo Kick: A fast-paced, choreographed kickboxing class that tones the whole body and provides a fun cardio workout.  All levels. Athletic shoes required.
Zumba: A dance fitness class set to latin and international music.  All levels. Athletic shoes required.
 
YOGA CLASSES
Hatha Yoga: Yoga fundamentals taught at a slower pace focusing on increasing flexibility through postures, breathing and relaxation/ meditation techniques.  A good introduction or reinforcement of yoga practice.  
Iyengar Yoga: Hatha yoga taught with the Iyengar teaching method.  Focus on alignment and precision in the yoga positions with the use of props.  Intermediate level requires at least one year of Iyengar Yoga experience. 
Vinyasa Yoga: Vinyasa yoga is a vigorous style based on a series of poses performed in rapid flow connecting movement and breath.  Yoga experience is expected.  Intermediate level requires an established yoga practice.
Power + Flow: A dynamic, vigorous yoga class designed to build strength while incorporating breathwork.
Yoga+Core: A fast-paced yoga class with an emphasis on developing core strength.
Yoga Level I: Requires no experience and focuses on learning and mastering fundamental postures.
Yoga Level II: Some experience recommended. Incorporates more challenging postures.

Program Policies
Registration:
  • Dodge Fitness Center membership is required for all course participation or registration.  To confirm your membership status, please contact the Membership Office 212-854-2546.
  • Payment must be provided at the time of registration. No registration required for "FREE" initiatives. 
  • Classes/Passes are NOT PRO-RATED or sold individually, unless otherwise noted. We do not allow make-ups for missed classes.
  • Registration will continue throughout the semester, space permitting.
  • Payment is by credit card, exact cash or check payable to Columbia University. 
  • DFC members may register another DFC member for courses by presenting the other member's valid membership I.D.
Attendance:
  • Free Trial (Fall & Spring terms only):  All adult DFC members may attend the free trial. Registered participants must arrive at the start time of the class to receive priority entrance. All individuals must be registered by the posted deadline to continue after the free trial.
  • Members may only attend a class or pass if they have officially registered and paid for the entire session, with the exception of during free trial periods. Attendance may be taken at the start of each class.
  • Participants must present their Group Fitness Pass Sticker on their CU or DFC photo ID card in order to gain entrance to classes. All Pass purchasers will be issued a Group Fitness Pass sticker upon registration. If you registered online,  YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR STICKER IN THE PHED OFFICE PRIOR TO ATTENDANCE.
  • "Trying" a class for free after the free trial period or watching a class from inside the room is not permitted. If you'd like to try a class, you must first purchase the class, unless otherwise noted.   
  • You may not be admitted if the room has already reached capacity
Late Policy:
  • All classes have a 10 minute late policy.
Refund/Transfer Policy: 
  • Fall 2019 refund deadline: Monday, September 9th. Refunds will NOT be issued after this deadline. NO REFUNDS on Half Price initiatives. 
  • Refunds not granted due to cancellation of gym membership or graduation, if the refund deadline has passed.  
  • There is a $10 fee for all refunds and drops.
Class Requirements:
  • Please come dressed appropriately. All classes require athletic shoes with the exception of Yoga, Pilates, Barre and Aquatics. 
  • The instructor reserves the right to turn you away from class if you are not properly dressed to participate.
  • If you have questions about the proper attire, please contact the PHED office.
