Olivia Raxter supervises the Dodge Fitness Center, manages all aspects of Recreation Operations staff including the hiring, scheduling, student development, supervision, and payroll accounting. She also oversees fitness equipment inventory and maintenance. Before taking on the Director role, Raxter was the Assistant Director of Recreation Operations for Columbia Recreation, supporting the facility in it's day-to-day recreation operations.
Prior to coming to Columbia, Raxter was at the University of Mississippi. During her time at Ole Miss, Raxter accumulated a variety of experience in recreational management as she served in three in different capacities including as an Adjunct Professor, Coordinator of Aquatics, and Graduate Assistant in Aquatics. At the end of her time at Ole Miss, the Student Affairs Department awarded Raxter with an “1848 pin,” which is a university award that recognizes her service going above and beyond for the student and university community. She also worked four years as a Club Sport Program Assistant as an undergrad at the University of Michigan.
A Warren, Michigan native, Raxter earned a bachelor of arts degree in Biopsychology Cognition and Neuroscience from the University of Michigan in 2016. She went on to earn an M.S. in Sport and Recreation Administration from the University of Mississippi in 2018. She was also heavily involved on campus at both Ole Miss and Michigan in recreational and student affairs clubs and organizations. She is an active member of NIRSA, Leaders in Collegiate Recreation.
