REGISTRATION

This special one–day camp is designed for junior golfers interested in playing on the collegiate level and considering cold-weather schools.  Campers will experience a day-in-the-life of a college golfer’s typical off-season practice using Columbia Golf’s state-of-the-art indoor facility.  See the attached flyer for more information.

Instruction will prepare young men for college golf in colder climates by addressing how to best use indoor and non-traditional facilities. Students will receive individual putting instruction, personalized launch monitor data, shot dispersion data and general feedback from the coaching staff.

Player Improvement Discussions will revolve around Strokes Gained. Campers will also learn how to formulate their own practice plans to make indoor and non-traditional practice meaningful.

College Preparation will address the recruiting process including basic NCAA Rules, written correspondence, important dates, and deadlines for standardized testing. In addition to the “Finding the Right Program.”

Competition will help them assess strengths and weaknesses, students will participate in a series of skills challenges across all the facilities. Coaches will be interacting with players during the instruction and competition.

Requirements

Eligibility - Camps are open to ANY and ALL male golfers who apply between the ages of 12 and 19. Under NCAA rules, senior graduates may attend camp.

Medical Form - Complete the required medical form prior to attending camp. Medical forms are required for attendance at any New York camp. A parent/guardian must complete the parent/guardian portion of the medical form. A copy of the camper's latest physical (within a year of camp) can substitute for the physician part of the medical form. A copy of the camper's health insurance is also required.

Housing, Transportation and Food -  For all camps, participants are responsible for making accommodations and arranging transportation to/from the camp.  Box lunches are included in the entry fee. Water is provided free of charge at the golf course.  

Locations

The Golf Training Facilities at Columbia University - hosted on Columbia University's main campus in Morningside Heights at the Dodge Fitness Center. Opened in 2001 and recently renovated and expanded in 2019, Columbia’s golf center boasts of two rooms - the larger space offers 2,000 square feet of chipping and putting space and the other 1,000 square feet of hitting space with state-of-the-art technology including.
