Equipment Check-Out

Policies & Available Equipment

  • Members may check out a range of fitness and sport equipment by using their Columbia ID (CUID). For a full list of equipment please visit
  • CUID cards will be scanned at the time of equipment check out and again when items are returned.
  • If a member uses someone else’s membership card in an attempt to check out equipment, the card is to be retained by the Recreation Operations Staff and held until the proper owner retrieves it. If the card is not retrieved, it will be returned to the CUID Card Office. 
  • Members who have towel and locker service will need to present their CUID to receive a locker key and/or towel.
  • All equipment, including locker keys, must be returned before leaving the gym. Unreturned items will result in a fee.
  • For all damaged, lost, or stolen equipment that is not returned, a replacement fee will be collected; fees vary depending on equipment.
    • A charge form will be filled out and responsible parties will have seven days to pay the fee to avoid losing access to Dodge Fitness Center.
    • Members who return the equipment in this period will have fees waived.
    • To remit payment, stop by Dodge Fitness Center Recreation Operations Office during business hours and let them know you have a charge to pay or equipment to return. Charge forms are located in Will Call under the person’s last name at the office.
    • Physical Education and Recreation accepts cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard for payment.
    • Replacement fees not paid within 7 days will result in loss of access privileges to Dodge Fitness Center. 
  • Place towels in the bin outside of the locker room entrance or outside the Equipment Check Out Room after use.
