Group Fitness Program

Effective Feb 12th, 2024: All Group Fitness classes will become drop-in only. Admission will be “first-come; first-serve.” Online reservations for these passes will END.

Participation

  • All participants must have a valid DFC membership and swipe into the facility using their CUID or DFC ID. No ID; no entry.

  • All attendees must comply with University protocols for accessing campus facilities.

  • No cellphone usage in class.

  • Only passholders will be admitted after any free trial. 

  • Water bottles are permitted. Unless medically necessary, do not bring food into class.

  • Exercise attire is required, including closed-toe athletic shoes. 

  • Registered participants receive priority entrance up until the start time of the class.

 

  • Spring Refund Deadline: Monday, January 22nd. No refunds after the deadline.

  • Refunds are prorated and incur a $10 fee.

  • There are no refunds on half price initiatives.

Functional Fitness

Effective Feb 12th, 2024: All Functional Fitness classes will become drop-in only. Admission will be “first-come; first-serve.” Online reservations for these passes will END.

Participation

  • All participants must have a valid DFC membership and swipe into the facility using their CUID or DFC ID. No ID; no entry.
  • After any free trial period, all participants must then purchase a Functional Fitness Pass to continue attending. 
  • Please arrive at least 5 minutes early.
  • There is a 5 minute late policy. No one is admitted after this point. 
  • Check-in with the instructor upon arrival.
  • No cellphone usage in class.
  • The following items are strictly prohibited inside the studio:

    • Chalk

    • Food

    • Open-toed shoes

    • Bags or backpacks of any kind. These must be left in a locker or outside of the studio.

 

  • Spring Refund Deadline: Monday, January 22nd. No refunds after the deadline.

  • Refunds are prorated and incur a $10 fee.

  • There are no refunds on half price initiatives or day passes.

  • Patrons may use the studio at their own risk.

  • Space is available on a first come first-served basis. Max capacity is 12 people.

  • Equipment may not leave the room.

  • Patrons may bring their own equipment, but it may not be stored in the studio. 

  • Music may NOT be played out loud. Headphones or earbuds are required. 

  • Patrons must clean any equipment they use and return equipment to its rightful location before leaving. 

  • The following items are strictly prohibited inside the studio:

    • Chalk

    • Food

    • Open-toed shoes

    • Bags or backpacks of any kind. These must be left in a locker or outside of the studio.

  • Equipment must be used properly and not abused. Do not climb on the Queenax structure. 

  • Patrons may be asked to leave if out of compliance. 

Indoor Cycling

  • All participants must swipe into the DFC using their CUID or DFC ID. No ID, no entry.
  • Check-in with the instructor at the Indoor Cycling Studio (formerly Squash Court 5).
  • Please bring a water bottle and towel. Only refill stations are available in the gym. There are no water fountains.
  • Wear exercise attire, including closed-toe athletic shoes or SPD-clip cycling shoes. Delta clips are NOT compatible.

Arrive at least 5 minutes prior to the start of class. Drop-in participants will be admitted at the start of class, space permitting. No-Shows forfeit their spot to drop-ins at the start of class. No one is admitted once the class has started.

Bags, purses, backpacks, food (unless medically necessary), and other personal items are NOT allowed on or near the bikes. Water/sports drink and a towel are allowed. 

Please respect the class atmosphere: silence and stow-away phones. Calls may not be taken in the studio. 

All attendees must comply with University protocols, DFC policies, studio rules, and instructions from the instructor or staff when participating. Failure to do will may result in lost access. 

  • Fall 2023 Refund Deadline: Monday, September 11th. No refunds after this date on Semester Passes or Day Passes.
  • Day Passes are not extendable or transferable.
  • There is a $10 fee for all cancellations.
  • There are no refunds on half price initiatives.

Specialty Courses

  • Classes are NOT PRO-RATED or sold individually, unless otherwise noted. We do not allow make-ups for missed classes.

  • Registration will continue throughout the semester, space permitting.

  • Members may only attend a class if they have officially registered and paid for the entire session. Registration may be confirmed at the start of each class.

  • All cancellations incur an additional $10 fee.

  • No refunds after the deadline.

  • There are no refunds on half price initiatives or day passes.

  • No cellphone usage in class.

Personal Training Program

REQUEST A TRAINER: A trainer will contact you within 48 hours of receiving your request. Once in touch with the trainer,  please discuss your needs, goals, and schedule. Trainers manage their own schedules, therefore all scheduling is between the client and the trainer. 

BUY SESSIONS ONLINE once you and your assigned trainer have confirmed a meeting time. Be sure to purchase the session before your first meeting with your trainer. Trainers may not conduct a session before it has been purchased. Paying a trainer directly is PROHIBITED. 

If you submit your request on a weekend or University holiday, please wait for the following business day for your request to be handled. 

Partner and Group Training: EACH participant must submit their own separate registration form

  • Prorated refunds are granted only for documented medical reasons. An additional $10 cancellation fee is applied.

  • Refunds are not granted for any reason on expired packages. Expired sessions are forfeited. Packages expire accordingly:

    • Single Session – 14 days from date of purchase
    • Five Sessions – 2 months from date of purchase
    • Ten Sessions – 4 months from date of purchase

 

  • Package expiration cannot be extended.

  • Unused sessions - due to package expiration, having graduated, relocated, gym membership expiration, or any other non-medical reason - are forfeited. It is the client's responsibility to complete their sessions in a timely fashion.

General

  • All sessions must be paid for in full prior to the start of training. Free trial sessions are not offered.
  • BUY SESSIONS ONLINE anytime online.
​Lateness and Cancellation Policies
  • You must provide a 24-hour notice for any cancellations to avoid being charged for that session.
  • Out of respect for one another's time and in order for us to provide you with the best service possible, we ask that you be prompt for your session.
  • If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, your session will be forfeited and considered “cancelled”. Trainers are not required to wait for clients who are more than 15 minutes late. Please call your trainer if you anticipate being late. 

Youth Swim Lessons

Request Lessons. You may specify a swim instructor. Otherwise, the first available one will contact you. Once in touch with the instructor please discuss your needs, goals, and schedule. Instructors manage their own schedules, therefore all scheduling is between the client and the instructor. 

BUY SESSIONS ONLINE once you and your assigned instructor have confirmed a meeting time. Be sure to purchase the lesson in advance. Lessons may not conducted prior to payment. No free trial sessions. Paying the instructor directly is PROHIBITED and may result in loss of gym access. 

If you submit your request on a weekend or University holiday, please wait for the following business day for your request to be handled. 

Semi-private lessons: YSL does not coordinate pairing of students. Please register partners together. All participants must meet eligibility criteria.

  • Prorated refunds are granted only for documented medical reasons. An additional $10 cancellation fee is applied.

  • Refunds are not granted for any reason on expired packages. Expired sessions are forfeited. Packages expire accordingly:

    • 1 lesson - 2 weeks from purchase date

    • 5 lessons - 2 months from purchase date

    • 10 lessons - 4 months from purchase date

  • Unused sessions - due to package expiration, having graduated, relocated, gym membership expiration, or any other non-medical reason - are forfeited. It is the client's responsibility to complete their sessions in a timely fashion.

Eligibility

Individual and partner swim lessons are offered for Columbia affiliated children between the ages of 6-17 years old. Affiliation tis defined as meeting one of the following criteria:

  • Child is a current DFC member (family membership).
  • Child is referred by one of the following programs.
    • Lion Swim Academy
    • Swim Camp
    • Swimming and Diving Lessons
    • Little Lions Camp (formerly Cubs Camp)
