Anne Marie Skylis

A former Columbia softball standout, Anne Marie Skylis is in her fifth year as Columbia’s Director of Sports and Cubs Camp.

It is her second stint at Columbia as Skylis also served as Columbia’s Athletic Facilities Student Manager from 2010-11 and as a Student Research Assistant in 2009. She also worked as a middle school teacher in the Providence Public Schools from 2011-13.

Skylis earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Columbia College in 2011. She earned a Master of Arts degree in Applied Exercise Physiology from Teachers College of Columbia in 2017.

An Ortonville, Mich., native, Skylis played four seasons on Columbia’s softball team as a catcher and outfielder. A four-year starter, Skylis hit .246 (114-464), scored 60 runs, hit three home runs and drove in 51 RBI in her career. She has the unique distinction of starting 190 consecutive games, including every game that she saw action in during her career from 2008-11.
